This renovation project celebrates the character of a traditional building through a careful balance between historic architecture and contemporary design. Original features, including exposed stone arches and timber beams, are preserved and integrated into a refined architectural language that respects the building’s identity.
The interiors are defined by clean lines, natural materials, and a restrained colour palette. Custom-designed joinery combines light oak with mineral surfaces, while discreet integrated lighting enhances the textures and architectural details. The spatial arrangement prioritises openness and natural light, with large glazed openings establishing a direct connection between the living areas and the outdoor terrace.
On the upper floor, the existing roof geometry shapes a distinctive bedroom suite, where sleeping, bathing, and storage functions are seamlessly integrated. Sculptural forms and carefully considered details create a sense of intimacy without compromising the simplicity of the overall design.
The result is a contemporary living environment that preserves the authenticity of the original architecture while introducing a new sense of comfort and clarity.
